Teiji Watanabe, Ph.D.
Professor Emeritus, Hokkaido University, Japan
Retired from Hokkaido University in March 2025. Specializing in mountain geography, I have been conducting research on the relationship between humans and the natural environment in regions such as the Himalaya, Karakoram and Pamir. I explore how mountain communities can develop sustainable relationships with natural environmental resources.
